Gayatri-Mantra
Mantra
"Om bhur bhuva swa tatsa vetur varenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yona prachodayat ".
This is actually only the first line of the full gayatri mantra which is chanted morning, noon and night by brahmins (priests) offering respects to the Supreme. It is only for advanced spiritual aspirants. Gayatri mantra is said to achieve liberation. A verse supporting this conclusion (yet also supporting the conclusion that only the maha-mantra is a necessity in this present age) from the "Chaitanya Charitamrita, Adi-Lila 7.73" states,"Through the gayatri mantra one attains liberation from material existence. Through the holy name one attains the lotus feet of Krishna".
